I constantly come back to the same thing when I write about myself. I am currently undergoing a major life change. And in a few years, I will probably need to rewrite my “About me” section again, but for now this is who I am.
Presently I am transitioning from full time single mum to regaining my own grown-up life, without the constant pressures of having to balance my time between work and my son.
Now he is studying abroad; I miss him, but he is happy with his life.
So after having been single for more than a decade, I am about to properly move in with a guy, whom I met when entering into a committed relationship wasn’t even on the horizon. To boot, for the first time in my life I will agree to rely upon him financially, and that idea scares me a lot. I never dreamt I would agree to give up some of my hard-earned independence one day. But here we are.
Now I am changing my career from corporate financial professional to life coach (this I always hoped I would be able to do one day). I am deliberately leaving behind the security of a monthly income for the uncertainty of self-employment, to see if I measure up and how I will be received. None of these transitions are easy, but exciting still. Some of course come more naturally, like raising our children and letting them go their own way. Some we set up for ourselves. But all are impactful.
